Welcome

This is Masters Commission Amsterdam. We are a part of the Masters Commission international network which has set up discipleship programmes all over the world. We are working and serving within the local church of Agape Amsterdam since 2008. Our motto as Masters Commission is to know God and to make him known and that is precisely what we are all about. Our desire is to see young men and women with a passion for the things of God be equipped, trained and discipled to be leaders.
So that they can go out and call others to follow them as they follow Christ. Our Programme is a 24-7 programme as we believe being a true disciple of Christ requires not just a part of us but all of us. Our programme is 10 months long starting in the September of each year and students graduate in the following June. It is a one, two or three year discipleship school with each year bringing a different focus to grow you as a leader.

In the programme our students take part in many classes giving them practical lessons as well as theoretical, they are taught how to do specific ministries by great leaders and teachers from all over the world. Our students also take part in creative arts learning drama’s and music and are given a wide foundation to serve in the local church. The local church is a high value in our programme and all of our students serve week in, week out in Agape church Amsterdam.
They serve in every area from worship to Kids team, coffee to welcome team and are involved in every area of church life, from prayer meetings to outreaches in our local community. We also look to help and serve local churches in our nation and surrounding nations, and throughout the year we go and minister in churches around Europe. Beside that we have one big mission trip each year where the students experience giving to the most needy people around the globe.

Student Life

House

As an MCAN student all of your accommodation will be provided within one of our MCAN houses. Each student will share a room with other MCAN students. MCAN will provide food and Tuesday to Friday we cook and eat together. Each house has WiFi for studying purposes or to keep in contact with friends and family. Every student is held responsible for the upkeep and daily running of the household and will be involved in such things as cleaning
responsibilities and weekly food shopping. Our houses are in very close proximity to the church where each student spends the majority of their time in class or ministry. We do advise that each student have around €100 each month to buy extra food/snacks and necessities throughout the month. This is just a guideline, however, it’s more than enough for monthly living within our program.

School

MCAN is a discipleship school and so the most important thing we can offer you is, an environment to be discipled by those who have gone before. Every student is surrounded by leaders who are striving to live a life worthy of the call of Jesus Christ and live to disciple others to do the same. Teachers who don’t just tell you how to walk, but show you, as they walk with you. Your typical week at MCAN will consist of lessons each day Tuesday to Friday, Ministry on Saturday and Sunday and a day off for study and rest on Monday.
Each day is begun with a time of prayer where each student can place God as the number one focus for the day. Throughout the week we also have extra times of input in the form of chapel services and devotionals. One of the core values of Master’s Commission is scripture memorisation, and so every student on a weekly basis will memorise scripture and study those scriptures in depth to have a greater understanding.

Church

Agape church is a community of about 200 members in a suburb of Amsterdam called Amsterdam-North. It is a member of the VPE, which is the Assemblies of God branch for The Netherlands. Agape church is truly a family of believers, old and young. Masters Commission is blessed to minister in the areas of Children’s Ministry,
Youth Ministry, Worship Ministry, Media Ministry, Welcoming Team, Senior Dinner, and Evangelism. Because students are coming from many places and different churches, our church members do their best to help the MCAN students feel at home in the church and a part of the family here at Agape.

Missions

Mission is a main heartbeat of MCAN, as we have understood the heart and love of God; we are compelled to go and reveal such love into the world, and to give the amazing things we have received. Throughout the year students will serve in local churches around Europe, taking part in evangelistic outreaches, youth conferences, church services and much more. Each year we also have a main mission trip where the students will spend an extended amount of time serving people in some of the worlds neediest countries. This past year we had the opportunity to go to Moldova and minister for
10 incredible days. We were able to take part in 11 school assemblies and impromptu dormitory services, as well as a dynamic youth evangelistic service, a youth service for the Chisinau locals, an international service, and four separate “regular” church services in Chisinau, Balti, and the surrounding villages. In addition to this we ministered in hospitals, orphanages, and women’s centers. Mission is always an extremely exciting time for us, and it forms some of the best memories the students take away with them from our program.
